The home is beautifully defined by its natural architectural separation into two distinct wings from two different eras.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴, originally constructed in 1938, offers a cozy embrace of log walls and exposed beams, where history feels alive and the home’s original charm still lingers.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗺 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴, added in the 1960s, introduces a softer mid-century sensibility, blending seamlessly with the home’s original character while offering a more garden-centered retreat.

The Garden Suite
This tranquil suite features a cozy queen bed and a garden-view window nook that invites slow mornings and quiet reading.
Attached Room
Connected to the suite is an additional room with a single bed and a dedicated workstation with desk and ergonomic chair.
Bathroom
The full bath reflects the home’s mid-century roots, featuring a vintage iron tub and original tilework.
This flexible layout works beautifully as one spacious suite or with an adjacent guest room. Outside, century-old rhododendrons create a lush, blooming backdrop to the estate.

Just a short stroll away, Discovery Park invites morning walks and sunset wandering, while beautifully manicured gardens surround you at home. Along the shoreline, watch ships drift quietly past, then settle in for slow, easy evenings with a collection of games to enjoy indoors.

Sleeping Arrangements
✧ Bayview Suite: King bed, sleeps 2, ensuite bath
✧ Garden Suite: Sleeps up to 3 guests with a queen bedroom and a separate room with a twin bed. The twin room is a pass-through room leading to the queen bedroom. The suite also includes a private en-suite bathroom.

A peaceful waterfront retreat unlike any other, The Log House is more than a place to stay. It is a place to breathe deeply, reconnect, and experience the rare beauty of Seattle from a private estate where history, nature, and comfort come together.

Guests will have access to the main level of the "Log House," excluding the locked owner's closets and the Log living room loft area.

Please note that the stairs leading to the bulkhead overlooking the beach can be extremely slippery and dangerous. For this reason, the gate to the beach is kept locked, but guests may request access if desired.

The basement of the "Log House" is off-limits to guests and has a separate entrance from the main level. We may occasionally need to access this space during your stay.

The Artist Loft is located above the detached garage near the entrance to the grounds. It's unlikely that you'll encounter our resident artist unless you're both arriving or leaving at the same time.

We offer a warm, unobtrusive hosting style. Kaela and her co-hosts are very responsive through the booking app (Airbnb/VRBO) during regular business hours. If you don’t hear back quickly, you’re welcome to text us. For urgent issues—especially trouble accessing the home or anything safety-related—please call right away.

We truly appreciate guests who value respect, open communication, and transparency so everyone has a smooth, comfortable stay.

On occasion, you may see landscapers, groundskeeper, and maintenance persons. They will come and go without initiating interactions with guests.

We try to keep maintenance visits down when guests are present but it's not always possible.

Log House Waterfront Estate offers a rare balance of quiet waterfront living and close proximity to some of Seattle’s most iconic destinations. Tucked between Discovery Park and Shilshole Bay, the setting feels worlds away, yet remains just a short drive from the heart of the city.

You’ll be minutes from scenic coastal walks, forested trails, and waterfront views at Discovery Park, as well as the marina, restaurants, and beach access near Shilshole Bay Marina.

For medical needs, major hospitals are within a reasonable distance, including Harborview Medical Center and Kindred Hospital Seattle, both approximately 20 to 25 minutes away depending on traffic.

If you’re visiting for events, sports, or concerts, Seattle’s main venues are easily accessible:

Lumen Field for football, soccer, and major concerts
T-Mobile Park for baseball and seasonal events
Climate Pledge Arena for hockey, concerts, and live performances

Seasonally, Seattle offers a vibrant calendar of events, from waterfront festivals to cultural celebrations like the Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival, along with year-round dining, markets, and neighborhood experiences.

Guests have access to the main level of the Log House. The basement is not part of the guest space and has a separate entrance, and we may occasionally need to access it during your stay
The log living room loft area and any locked closets are reserved for owners and housekeeping
The stairs leading to the bulkhead and beach can be slippery and potentially hazardous. The gate remains locked for safety, but access may be requested at your own discretion
The Artist Loft above the detached garage is occupied by a resident artist. While encounters are rare, you may occasionally cross paths when arriving or leaving
From time to time, you may see landscapers or maintenance providers on the grounds. They will come and go without interrupting your stay
